Hey Charitable Yugsters,

It's a brand new month and that means it's time to decide who will win
Yugster's Charity of the Month contest!

http://www.yugster.com/charity.html

This July, we've got three top contenders vying for the top spot. The
organization with the most votes will take home 50% of all the revenue
generated from the Yugster Price Comparison page, located here:

http://www.yugster.com/deals.html

Here are the charities to choose from, as suggested by our Yugster
Members...

Surfrider Foundation (http://www.surfrider.org): The Surfrider Foundation is a
non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment
of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation,
activism, research and education. Strategic initiatives include Clean Water
(protect and restore coastal water quality from the ridges, through our
watersheds and out to the nearshore ocean where we surf, swim and recreate),
Beach Access (promote the right of low-impact free and open access to the
world's waves and beaches for all people),
Beach Preservation (protect and preserve healthy beaches that are important
coastal ecosystems and recreational areas), and Protecting Special Places
(proactively conserve, protect, and restore special coastal and ocean places).

Katrina's Angels (http://www.katrinasangels.org): Katrina's Angels is
national volunteer effort that is driven by the generosity of people
wanting to make a difference for those communities affected by federally and
state-declared disasters. They are committed to providing coordinated solutions
to rebuild the lives of those in communities affected by disaster through
volunteers and partners. They have hundreds of volunteers registered in with the
organization at various times, and a growing list of partners who work together
to serve the needs of those people affected by federally and state-declared
disasters. Following the hurricanes of 2005,Katrina's Angels had 900+ evacuees
and their families register and many
families had every one of their needs filled.

charity: water (http://www.charitywater.org): Right now, 1.1 billion people on
the planet don't have access to clean and safe drinking water. That's one in six
of us. charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking
water to people in developing nations. charity: water uses 100% of the money
raised to directly fund freshwater wells and basic sanitation projects in some
of the poorest communities in the world. The local community is engaged in the
well building process, carrying out small tasks for free to reduce labor costs.
This also encourages community participation and ensures community ownership
after the project is
complete. When the well is built, a water committee is formed. It generally
consists of 6-8 people, half of them female. In the case of hospitals, the
committee will generally consist of nurses and hospital staff. In schools, the
committee would likely be comprised of teachers. Since charity: was founded and
began activity in August 2006, we have funded the construction of more than
1,247 wells that, when completed, will provide clean drinking water to 650,000
people.

Now do your part and get your vote in ASAP:
