NATL Response Coordinator Greg Conklin posted photos last night of the flood destruction and work being done in Austell, GA. View them by going here http://www.natldrr.org/photos.html and click View All Images.
Greg is tentatively leaving Friday unless conditions get worse again. He has been working to get other non-profits throughout the state to get volunteers lined up and trained. He has also delivered much-needed supplies, including handing out Katrina's Angels tote bags filled with personal hygiene and other items, school supplies, and other items provided by KA, all the while keeping an eye on the river level to watch for more potential flooding from the last couple of days' rain. Local Emergancy Management is also keeping an eye on the river levels.
Last night, Greg's plans were to go north of Atlanta to check on the river level and assess current needs in that area with all the rain received. I will update you as soon as I hear anything more.
